Messy Valentine card

Hmmm...

Not entirely sure where I was going with this card.

I don't like to copy anyone else- I'm always seeing 'samey' cards.. ok so they are all works of art but lots of people tend to do the same? So I had an experiment before as with the other Something New and I can report back...

Trying to make shabby/messy/arty cards= FAIL!

Well I think so anyway...I'm sure my 5 year old would disagree as she seems to love everything I do that's bright and shiny...

Ok so it's not The Worst Card Ever but it's probably up there somewhere along with other cards People Shouldn't Even Attempt To Make If They Are Not Arty...

If it's not square, measured and symmetrical... it doesn't seem to work for me. Maybe I should just stick to Boring Cards eh?

Pffff...

Just don't tell MelJen I destroyed one of her stamps please... :P

Do I dare enter it into a challenge? Well tbh I don't think any of my cards is as worthy as most cards I see on challenges every time I look... so why not this one? hehe....

Challenges:

One Stitch At A Time- Love and Valentine
Lexis Creations - Say it with love
Stamp With Sarah Kay- sparkling
Delicious Doodles- 3 colours

I think maybe experimentation is for people with less fogginess and more of an idea of what to do rather than Let's Just Try This Here....

*runs away to hide in bed before anyone sees this post*
(may delete it when I come to my senses...lol)

*hugs*

  2. Hang on! Its so easy to stick with the safe and only do what we're comfy with so well done on trying out something new!

Love the purples youve used here, it's our boss Teri's favourite colour!

  5. Hiya Gail,

    How are you?
I am Casper, Pleased to meet you!

Don't put yourself down - we all do that too much - if you are not happy with anything just practice ok hunny!

I am never HAPPY WITH MY CREATIONS, ALWAYS THINK I COULD HAVE DONE BETTER!

Your card is just so perfect for our Challenge of "Love & Valentine" Theme at One Stitch At A Time (OSAAT).

Love the purples you have used instead of the usual red or pink!

    Take care
    Big Hugs

  6. The beauty of handmade is the fact that love has gone into making the card, don't put yourself down as said above sticking to safe things is boring I think it's great

  7. Dont be too hard on yourself. We all have to experiment and most of us don't think our cards are not good, especially me. Thanks for joining us at OSAAT

  10. OK I agree with your 5 year old - I think it's lovely - it's always scary trying something new but if you don't try you won't know if you're good at it. My first distressed card went straight in the bin cos it wasn't nice and neat - didn't even have the nerve to blog it. Hugs Jaqui x
