Freaky Dreams...

Ok so...

I'm here but nothing crafty really to share as you all are fans of Myz designs on FB anyway so you saw all my Xmas stuff right? Nobody really commented so it must have been complete shite..hehe...

So....

I thought I'd share a dream I had last night lol.... not well at all at the moment and when I'm not I have very freaky dreams... usually very very scary ones.. think it's because I get very hot or something I dunno.... aaanyway

I was walking through town with someone I haven't a clue who (the fact I was walking thru town should have told me at once it was a dream lol) and we went into a little clock and watch shop (even though whoever I was with wasn't keen to go in at all I had to persuade them) and behind the counter was Ian Hislop .. they had lovely clocks and watches in there but I looked to the left as I came in and on the table was a whole load of groceries... some of which had been opened (like a 4 pack of Snackajacks where one had been taken out) There were cans of lemonade and some dates (one of those was missing too)

Ian told us that they were having a raffle and one person would get it all .. it was £1 and I thought I am going to win this... somehow I knew I was going to win so I gave over my money and he gave me a ticket....

Next thing I knew I was awake with the burning burning feet again so blundered downstairs for my usual feet-on-floor cool down and a cup of tea.....

..anyone know anything about dreams? lol.... am I just mega weird?

Library Fun!

(a joint collaboration with Little Myz)

I went to the library in Colburn last weekend and they had a dinosaur making hour on. yeay! I went in the 6-11 year old section and the 5s and under were coming out as me and Mummy went in .. we were the only people in our session! ... but the Sports Centre has a fun day on so everyone else was probably there. Mummy said it was a good thing as she can't take the noise so a quiet library was her cup of tea- Mummy likes cups of tea....

The lady who was running the session was called Ruth- I like Ruth she is very kind and helpful and always has a big smile on her face.

I cut out my dinosaur finger puppets

Mummy even made some!

I was so proud of my puppets

Thank you Ruth for making it such a fun day for Mummy and me.... they have something going on every month. If you live near Colburn maybe you can come and have a play next month?

Don't Faint....

.....but after 2 mths here is a blog post!... and it's crafty related! :0

*waits for certain people to pick themselves up off the floor* lol

Painted wooden stuff aside (if you aren't a FB fan you won't know what I'm on about but that's your fault :p ) I haven't really been doing much crafty wise. Plenty of resting has been in evidence so hopefully things will look up soon crafty wise- being stuck in house is all well and good when you can craft but when you can't it's a rather dire state of affairs...

Aaaanyway, I had an idea (I do sometimes!) of making some 'easy' cards .. which have the bonus of Little Myz being able to craft alone too as they don't need supervision- boooonus! So here are some expensive-but-cool Kanban Flying Fairy tunnel cards

Aren't they dinky? Can you tell which one was made by Little Myz? ;)

They can be folded into an a5 envelope too.. woooo

I also made another one but forgot to take a photo before I sent it lol but it's much the same ;)

I love kanban and Hunkydory stuff but it's so expensive.. although I guess you get what you pay for - you know you're not going to get crud from them lol

Rocking Your World Friday

Bit tough week but going to hang on in there because of these things (and prob loads of things can't remember- sorry xx)

My kids

Was Little Myz' birthday this week and she made me feel so happy going on and on about the card I managed to make her (have I posted it yet? Sorry if i haven't... world a bit upside down right now..) saying how great it was .. making me feel a little less than totally useless lol

Yes I know pretty sad but sometimes it's the only thing that can make me laugh and sometimes those laughs are very huge... not a clue why it get me that way but it does :)

Staying The Same

As posted on fatty fat fat blog I have stayed the same this month which believe me is a lot better feeling than gaining.. it's weird tho as I look better in my clothes i am wearing smaller clothes and look smaller... but I am up about half a stone from my original 3.5 stone loss.... it's a mystery.... but staying the same? .. Defo A Good Thing...

I love slimming world food.. look at this:

Tastes as good as KFC... well to me.. in fact better as we tried KFC a few months ago and it made me ill- all that fat... never though I'd go off it lol

Ok so I have been gaining but it's prob something going on inside of me as I look smaller.. and unless someone has gone through my wardrobe and put bigger sizes in there I *am* smaller.. weirdness... so keeping on with SW is prob doing at least *something* in there :)

Anyway I think that's it...and I really hope this made sense my brain is still asleep I think :/

Shrink plastic on cards

Those of you who read my subversive blog will already have had a sneak look at my shrink plastic makes on these cards but not the finished cards... so here they be:

First was for my 10th wedding anniversary last Thurs. Had a few problems (and lots of swearing) as after all the disappointments with no-party-times and no going away times- stupid body!) but finally came up with this card which was heartfelt but simple :)

Might use the heart on a necklace or something so all my hours spent making the darn thing weren't wasted, lol...

The next one was for my Mum's birthday on Friday

Just a quick post to let you know before I lay shaking in the bedroom after all the effort..lol

I went out!!!!

I decided to try the short walk (with hill!!) to school early today so that I'd have plenty of recovery time Should It All Go Wrong.

Look..here is me all excited... lol

Jumper dress, although It Seemed A Good Idea At The Time, was far too hot and I got all sweaty. We stopped a few times en route and eventually we got to the school! (Well outside it lol)

After a rest we set off back with Little Myz allowed into the park on the way back for 5 mins as she's Been A Good Girl.

Can't say I feel physically great, but needs must, and I NEEDED TO GET OUT! lol...

So can prob manage that a few next week let's see how the rest of today and tomorrow go...

Had fitful sleep and lots of pain lip wise... but in morning she had an assembly at school which she had lots of narrating to do and a very important job to be a chick. Came through with flying colours

Rocking Your World Friday

Ok

This week has been particularly tough- lots of going backwards health wise lots of tears and lots of other stuff that I can't go into

..but having jumped back onto the Rocking Your World wagon last week I really felt as if I should continue....

So here's what rocked my world this week :)

My Kids

They really make me laugh (sometimes!) and for that I am so thankful. Too much sh*** going down at the moment yet these guys keep me from dropping off the deep end into the ocean of tears.. love em so much

Tea

Never, never NEVER underestimate The Power Of Tea. It's got me through some very tough times and if I ever run low (less than 20 bags) I get the shakes lol... Don't get me wrong I don't drink it all day but... mm... teeeaa....

Crafting

Ok, so I haven't done any for quite a few days but I managed to finish this last Friday which was a present for hubby's best friend

It was supposed to be a book but shhhh wasn't well enough so used my noggin and made a board

Woohooo see... one of the cruddest weeks I have had for a while yet there are still some things that you can find that are cooooolio :)

40th Birthday Board

Hello

Myz made this for a friend of her hubby's 40th birthday. Great ambitions for a book were cast aside what with the wobbliness and general yuckiness so it became a board instead as time was at a premium

She started with a board covered with a 12x12 paper from Smirk 'for him' papers...

Each photo was framed with shiny blue card cut out with some square nesties and glittered with blue glitter pens and printed out words were also framed with the same card to give an overall effect not usually seen in a Myz design..... woohooo conformity ;P

Only one word phrases as Myz' brain a little dead right now :P

So here it be hung up with a glittery ribbon:

Myz couldn't get to the party due to 'damn body letting me down yet again' ... she still hasn't got out of the house other than a cup of tea sitting outside the door and general washing hang-uppness that cause much of next day bed staying in-ness :P

..she was. however, rewarded with cake

...and Myz LOVE DA CAKE!!

Rocking Your World Friday

(been writing since wednesday-ish lol just so could finally post)

Ok. So I'm sat at home with minimum potterage... still quite a bit of painage and no going outside age....

...but there must be some things this week that have rocked my world?

Been thinking about it since yesterday and... here they are!!!!

(1) My massagers

Help really well with the painage and sufferage... this usb one is the nuts... and also I have one I use on my legs and feet in the bath which has little balls inside that I think have fairies in... cos they are sooo goood..... I likes those fairies :)

(2) My wonderful kids

They have been brill the past few weeks. Ok, so son-of-mine has teenager hormones and Little Myz has a tendency to chatter chatter sing and chatter all day...usually at high volume... but when the chips are down they are so helpful :) As they is the only kids I has and am ever going to have.... I am glad that I have been left with these ones not worse ones (*)

My delightful 5 year old came home with this yesterday... for those of you without such ickle ones now we aren't allowed to correct spelling (??!!??) as they write phonetically.... I am very much hoping I'll be allowed to hothouse her spelling wise soonish... as it's driving me up the wall... but if you can read it... it's really really sweet......

*sniff* she definitely makes me happy!!!! (.....usually.....lol)

(3) my crafting

Have been able to finish various things this week so even though I can't do the stand uppage my concentration is a lot better than it was so yeay for that. It definitely lifts my mood to be able to create something that will last for a while (or finish it off)

I am proud of something else I managed to finish off this week but I can't blog that... not yet at least as it hasn't been given to said blokie yet. Nothing Earth-shattering but it's better than a card and a slap on the back hehe.. and I like it.. I might make one for me :)

(4) Good Food

Ok, so my body is doing ***** things at the moment and major failing all over the place, but at least I can put into it tasty food for when the amblage gets sorted and I can have a nice wander. Who knows what's going in there but I can try as much as I can to put nice healthy food in when I can bear making the blooming stuff (which is another positive as I can stand up more now than last week.. get in!)

(5) Being Positive

I must admit, this week has been a tough one for me but do you realise how much different your face can look when you contort it into various positions? :)

Easter Shennanigans

(Can't be fiddle arsing about... not atm..

..so this will either go live half 6 Sun evening or won't hehe....)

I don't know whether it's because I love my kids more this year (hmm prob not, lol...) or that because of certain things that have happened making me more aware of our mortality etc, etc... Make The Most Of Things While You Can.... you never know when you may lose someone type thing.. I decided to Make The Effort to make something for the kids this year instead of buying a few eggs and hoping for the best lol..... After all they will soon have flown the nest and I'm sure they won't be wanting silly knitted toys hehe.... and I'm aaaalways making things for other people all year round and the kids only seem to get things birthdays or Christmas..hehe...

I started preparations quite early, worried about maybe health wobbles etc...thinking..thinking..thinking about what I could do.. and a plan started to form

Hello... we is Bunneyz....

We were closely followed by Da Chickz....

We jumped on various yummy eggs....

Then made a nest where we laid quite a few more ickle eggs...

Bad Gaily then decided to hide all the little eggs under some more crepe paper so it looked like they only got 2 little eggs on top and the rest would be a surprise..

..and then everything was hidden under copious amounts of whatever-this-stuff-is and tied it with a bow:

...but they isn't getting it again innit :)

Too Much Like Hard Work atm....

..I like to keep busy tho at the mo so it was fun....

..and the eggs are all wrapped up now so I don't get tempted by them during the week if I have a major wobble...

Hellooo... quickie update

Hopefully this post will work.. the one on my weightloss blog took ages to post stupid blogger....

Got a date for my op/procedure whatsit- May 11th- so at least, as Jaqui says, it will be over in a month or so.. hopefully on the up after that.... it's bad enough with the ME/Fibro but dang if life wants to throw summat else in the mix we'll cope with that too! hehe

Have been posting lots of stuff on Facebook.. got let down again with the whole 'ooh gail make me some cards and I'll buy 3 or 4' shite again :( .. now I have a pile of Easter cards I can't do anything with :( .. so been going thru stuff that I haven't uploaded yet and some newish things too but here's some for those of you without FB

Made lots of earrings but these be my favourites as they have a story behind them.... bought some gorgeous ornate beads from China a while back and when they finally arrived... muuuch smaller than I thought lol :

Well that's all from me for now but hope that will keep you going for a while. Weightloss not going so well so have been experimenting with comfort food Slimming World stylee with varied results... it's just my bod at the minute with all its coping with I guess.... once the nasties are eradicated who knows it may all drop off...

..but for now I'm trying to stick to it even though the scales show a gain of 1-2lb a mth.. still lost over 40 and it may all drop off once the nasties go...

..a girl can hope can't she? :)

Birthday Card Thanks

Thanks sooooo much to everyone who took time to make me cards for my birthday at the end of last month- it really means a lot to me that people would take time out to send me something .. big *hugs*

I was waiting til they all got here.. I think the last came on Saturday *baaaad Royal Mail!!* but who knows.... there may be more out there somewhere.....

I am very proud to have received this card as She's Not A Cardmaker (raises eyebrow) ..so doesn't tend to make cards for people .. on the strength of that I think I'll stop making cards too as I'm definitely not a cardmaker either..... :P

The story behind it is that a couple of years ago she made me a card with my favourite man in the world, Ray Winstone on ... tied to a chair... only I hardly even knew who he was...so this time she decided to put someone she *knew* I definitely liked on the front

This one was from Debbie and a really lovely cheery card for me at the moment what with everything going on :)

All these lovely flowers were from Karen and are all decoupaged up .. they'll last far longer than normal flowers so great cheer-up potential for a while :)

What can I say? I can't stop trying to make less-neattastic cards.....

I quite liked this one actually :)

The card was made for the Bugaboo mini challenge with a Skelekinz stamp I just bought and I messily edged it with stickles and I think it sooort of worked ;)

I wrapped some matching thin ribbon round the bottom of the backing hoping to make the card look less neat and cutesy which is what i usually do

What do you think? Did it work? Or does it look like a desperate attempt for a neat card maker to be more arty? lol...

This cute little bird card was made for the Bugaboo mini challenge this week.. again with a Bugaboo image and sentiment...

..Definitely An Addiction Now I Think ;)

Coloured with promarkers and tried my hardest to match the colours I had with the backing paper. If I could change one thing I'd put more of the peach card behind the backing paper but i didn't have enough *sniff*

On a change-my-addiction note ... I used card candy not sticky gems ;)

Here's a really early Valentine for you all...

I made it for the Bugaboo sketch challenge for today, but the sentiment goes out to you all. It isn't easy being isolated here for much of the time and it's difficult to explain really... but it's lovely to be able to post things on t'internet and get feedback where 'normal' people would just use their friends. To illustrate my point... the heating man came round for a repeat visit last week (bad radiators, baaad radiators! lol) and I remembered what he took in his tea as he'd been the *last* person to come and visit...

..I'm sure he left thinking that I was some sort of hermit.. hehe

So *love yous* *hugs* and *mmmwahs* to any of you who take their time to comment on my posts as sometimes it's the only communication I get all day besides Facebook (I love my new phone..even if I can't look at my PC monitor I can now browse The Interweb on my phone!!! wooo... posh! hehe)

Anyway, this was one of my new Bugaboo images ..

....and my first time I'd put her on a card... I print out many many images (I spoil so many with this stupid shaky hands) and she was lucky enough not to bee tooo spoiled hehe. I decided she'd like to be placed on purple mulberry paper and valentine heart ribbon.. it made her feel special dontchyaknow? :) The sentiment was made so fantastic by use of my scalloped circle nesties (they cut *and* emboss dontchyaknow? Get some! :P )

Here's where I need you though... after taking the photo I decided it needed some more pen round the outside... but should I have left it as it was or do you think it looks better this way? Thanks if you give me any ideas on this...

Made this card for the Bugaboo mini challenge 'Bling'

Coloured the gorgeous clown with my promarkers and made sure the flowers looked nice and blingtastic with my purple stickles. captured some bling from around the room for the corners and used some lovely bright dotty ribbon from Crafty Ribbons to give it more brightness factor.

Not overly pleased with the sparkly stitching but you can't have it all can you? ;)

Little Myz is off school sick with a stomach bug so she decided to make one too.. hers can be seen here .. please go and send her some love, she's really upset she's having to miss school.. she hates missing school... so did son-of-mine I guess and now he's at secondary he hates it so there's time for her to change I guess ;)

I made it using an Image from Meljen (again lol.. who knew such a rugged lady could be so taken by whimsy.. I blame my daughter myself... ;) ) and some spotty colourful papers from Goodness Knows Where.. that's what you get for swapping stash..you haven't a clue where anything comes from ;)

Of course there are my addiction-of-the-month sticky gems on there too :)

Of course, what better challenge to enter it into than Meljen's Designs DT challenge for the week for a square or circle card? I made a circle card once.. only once... it kept rolling all over the place... so I knew I was going to stick with square somehow ;)

Dragontastic!

Stamping Dragon Designs are having a DT call - finishing tonight- and I decided to enter. Not because I thought I'd get chosen (heck, I don't think most of my cards are good enough for challenges let alone Design Teams!.. only a few exceptions...) but there was such a gorgeous digi!!! A dragon...*and* a fairy! Little Myz went into Crafty Heaven for a little while with this digi but hasn't made a card yet... I'm sure she'll post it when she has.... Watch Her Blog... lol.. but don't hold your breath ;)

Ok, so, she's a little underdressed for the UK at the moment, but heck I'm sure it's very warm in dragon-and- fairy land eh? :)

I got to use my stickles and also a newish technique for me.... inkytasticness!!! .. and do you know what? I actually like what i did... for once hehe...

The space on the left was very bare though so I inked it and asked a butterfly to land on it.. not sure I got it quite right but believe me, It Looks Far Better That Way....I even used my new Papermania Shimmery dots .. although I underestimated just how many I'd need to go all round the outside of the scallop.... This card will have to go to Someone Very Special I think as I'm now going to have to save up for some more brown shimmer dots hehe

Well I hope you like it.. I don't think it's that bad :)

Messy Valentine card

Hmmm...

Not entirely sure where I was going with this card.

I don't like to copy anyone else- I'm always seeing 'samey' cards.. ok so they are all works of art but lots of people tend to do the same? So I had an experiment before as with the other Something New and I can report back...

Trying to make shabby/messy/arty cards= FAIL!

Well I think so anyway...I'm sure my 5 year old would disagree as she seems to love everything I do that's bright and shiny...

Ok so it's not The Worst Card Ever but it's probably up there somewhere along with other cards People Shouldn't Even Attempt To Make If They Are Not Arty...

If it's not square, measured and symmetrical... it doesn't seem to work for me. Maybe I should just stick to Boring Cards eh?

Son's Birthday Card

Son-Of-Mine hit the big 1-3 this week...

I had been hoping I'd have a few days to create his card but the tricksy teen decided to be ill so I in fact had the grand total of ... 3 hours....

I had soo many ideas but had to throw them all away in favour of this card, which I had the idea of creating to illustrate his 'geeky' PC and game loving side and his love of Football...

The images are taken from the Smirk paper pack and the backing was from Crafters Companion Birthday cd printed straight onto the card. The ribbon didn't work so well but I ran out of time..

..but he adored it so ho-hum Mum Did Good....

Bracelets

Bit weird headed at the moment so made some very naughty bracelets to counteract all the cute ones and 'name' ones I made at Chrimble... They are In The Usual Place...

...but made me feel a little too angry so I had to counteract the *other* way by making a smiley bracelet and here it be:

How are you supposed to tie the ends onto the findings? Are you supposed to glue them? I tied lots of knots but I'm scared if I wear it later it'll break all over the place or something.... so i'll let Little Myz wear it I think then I can blame her

Hope you all had a yummy Christmas... I did too but glad I think to be back on Slimming World diet... too much of a good thing is obviously not a good thing as far as my bod is concerned... lol it complained sooo much....

I decided to get into the Christmassy mood and rolled over and over in My Mistress' stickles to make myself blingtastic

I then heard the command 'card!' so dutifully jumped onto a shiny oval scalloped piece of card and arranged myself onto a lovely snowflake backing paper and flung some bling into the corners

I hope Mistress is very proud of me... I think I look mint! :)

Woo! Earrings!

Sorry for lack of updates- not really been making even cards recently. Saving energy for walking Little Myz to school and then resting so I can pick her up.. wow lovely life! lol

Aaanyway was stuck in bed resting again today and decided to have a play and try to finish my earrings... I bought some stuff over a year ago to have a play with and intended on getting jewellery mags or something as a teacher but I never got round to it. So i thought hey ho look at some you have and see what they look like ...

Those of you that make jewellery please look away now..they have probably not been made 'right' but i don't care I needed to create *something* to make myself feel better lol

So i got a dangly whatnot making sure i had two of them ;)

Attached 2 jump rings:

Saw I had balls from somewhere... wondered how to use them... so put 2 on a bigger jump ring

Nother jump ring and an earing whatsit and...you gots earrings!

Lookee! They even go in some ears! lol

Ok so they are pretty dire and I prob didn't make them as anyone else makes them. I am a 'shove it and see' sorta gal...

...they haven't fallen apart yet tho and I've been wearing them for 30 mins..get in! lol

..and they made me a bit brighter too so go me!

Halloween! Woooo!

Bit cheesed off and weepy at the moment. I really enjoy Halloween and going out with the kids but this year I just couldn't... I have to get Little Myz to school for the rest of the week and if I'd have gone out they wouldn't have been able to stay out for as long and I'd have no doubt knackered myself even *more* for the foreseeable...

...I so hate my body ...*le sigh*

Anyway I was proud to Do My Bit before The Event and we made some little Trick or treat bags

I painted Little Myz' face

..and she became a very, very scary and totally eeebil witch!!!

...no, nobody just broke wind, she was trying to look scary lol!

Note the lovely headgear.. I hadn't been able to make her a witche's hat so we got a witch's boob tube top and shoved it on.. it looked rather effective I feel.. much more so than if she'd gone out as a witch with her cute blonde ringlets :)

Son-of-mine did what 12 year olds usually do and wore his outfit from last year that was shoved at the bottom of his really messy wardrobe... well Mum Got it Out.... along with all the other stuff I threw into the middle of his room that is going to take him AGES to sort out but Must Go Where It Belongs.... mwah ha HA ha haaaaaa.... who said only witches can be evil? ;p

Hope you had a good time. As I say I'm feeing rather deflated and weepy at the moment but hopefully it will pass soon I have just about run out of Unblogged cards so won't be able to enter any more challenges until I make some more...

Fiiiiiiiiiinally managed to fulfil my October Challenge cross stitch project with 2 days to spare....

For a while it looked like I wasn't going to do it as most was done in the first 2 weeks then the dizziness hit so at the moment can only do a very short time before I have to stop.

However, with Little Myz at her Nanny and Grandad's house for the week I have been able to leave it out and do it as and when instead of having to keep hiding it from Little Myz :)

I don't send halloween cards so I put my thinking cap on.. fired up My Craft Studio and decided to make a very dodgy version of a digi scrap page .. which, I am sure, can 'do' for those challenges that require a Scary Element ;) .. it sure scared the pants off me making it :p

This was a joint project I undertook with the help of Little Myz

It started off as a boys card with a nestie label on and a dinosaur but Little Myz hijacked the idea and wanted to give it to 'her husband to be' as a thanks for agreeing to marry me card... bless, they are only 5 years old!!!

I say nestie label but I only have one left that I bought so I have been spending up to half an hour cutting round the one I have on papers... I really need some nestie labels lol.. anyone out there with nestie labels that preferably are on The Square Side that don't have circles and scallopped circles let me know if you want to do a swap for a month or so or something... lol

..anyway, so Little Myz hijacked my lovely card and made it a Thanks To Hubby To Be card as apparently He Likes Butterflies.... lol

Seeing as I don't have any new baby boy or girl cards... and also that I intend At Some Point In The Near Future to sell my creations... I thought it best to finish some of the half done cards I have laying about in boxes ...

...seeing as I'm not so well today that wasn't entirely A Good Thing, as I completely messed up 2 out of the 3... but here's the one that made it through! lol

The gorgeous topper was printed from my Recipes CD ... more of those to come later as I have many more printed for all sorts of family occasions. Other than that I'd have to say the rest Comes From Somewhere In My Stash *shrug* lol....

LOL not quite sure what possessed me to make these but I had bits of ribbon laying around from one-stupid-Christmas-debacle-or other... and also 3 unused pegs.. so i thought 'Heyyyyyy, why don't you make covered pegs that can be used to hang Christmas cards up with?'

So... since I don't like to argue with the Voice In My Head... I did as she asked ;)

Little Myz' friend was very impressed and thought I was a marvel... ooooh to be 5 again ;)

I sold some cards...I sold some cards...what did I sell?

..some cards!

They were £1 cards but I gavc her 5 for £4 cos I'm nice like that ;)

Ok was to same woman that bought my cards last time but now I'm getting off my bum...(well instead of that....read she's finding out for me ;) ) .. and one day soon... I may.... book a table at an event and try to sell stuff!!!!!!!!

Have already thought ahead to if I'm having a bad day on the day of the same, having paid loads for a table, and asked son-of-mine whether he would come too

...he say yeah!!!!!

He's continually showing his mates the cards and saying they are 'awesome' and so do his friends, but I feared that they may well be doing so as if they told me the cards were shite I'd fall into a quivering heap onto the floor and rock back and forth...

Not been having a great day and Little Myz had her friend over for a few hours after school so spent most of it in bed 'Preparing for The Onslaught' lol....

Finished off two things though... might post them in a sec.. if my camera will decide to give up the photos! lol

Grumpy Fairy tried to come back earlier as didn't feel well at all, but Myz fairy kicked her ass out of the house :)

We just got a call to say we won a PS3 about 20 mins after my last post

Thanks Myz Fairy! I'll continue thinking positive ;)

...it was from JULY though so that goes to show things take MONTHS to get sorted out!

..and please, those of you with the Grump Fairy on your shoulder please don't comment about how lucky i am... I won once per 1000 competitions i entered last year (and a 'win' can be a set of stickers lol) so go enter 1000 come back and if you still don't win even a silly thing then bookmark this and comment with your grump fairy as much as you like ;)

Challenges make life worthwhile for me :)

Sorry this probably will be very long so if you're in a rush just forget this is here- it prob won't make sense either as I'm really tired today so it's probably all gobbledegook lol)

In the past week I've been entering any and every crafty challenge I come across that I can manage... did you notice? ;)

The fact is that before i never thought I stood a chance at winning as my cards are usually at best 'middling' and will never win any Creative Arty Prize for their construction...

I missed the point that it's fun to enter a challenges and, who knows, I may come across other people as 'mad' as me on my travels who may become long term friends... some challenges even choose...RANDOMLY... so maybe I stand a chance of winning lol..

People who are mobile, that have jobs, that can do what they want when they want I don't think can really grasp the idea of being stuck in the house for much of the time. For years I have been tortured from time to time by the Grump fairy... do any of you know her? She whispers things into your ear like

'Look.. *they* have money as *they* have a job.....'
'You're just not worth anything, you don't *do* anything!'
and sometimes, only a couple of times a year
'Poor you...' (*shudder*)

Stuff like that....

Not all the time, you understand, and Definitely Not In Public ;)

I don't live in a box for most of the year (Sorry, shameless in-joke for someone there lol)

During the past year , as well as the Grump fairy, I have also been visited by the Myz fairy... you know, the one that Isn't Gail At All.. the More Confident Alter Ego.. sometimes at least ;) .. she says things like

'Have you thought about crafting when you can and selling things?'
'Ah but those people who work, they don't get chance to craft as much as you do on A Good Week'
'Hey your stuff isn't so bad, it takes all sorts, show it or i'll bite you on the bum!'

For Myz is a very Naughty Fairy sometimes ;)

Goodness, I'm probaby making no sense at all... *sigh*

lol

..but My Point Is.... these people who run challenges are worth their weight in gold for me. They set a different challenge each week which, quite like Mission Possible, I am free to Accept Should I Choose And Be Well Enough To.. (and yes, I know I said Possible lol). I don't just sit there aimlessly crafting with what I have to just 'make any card' mindlessly.. they all seem to have a purpose..

Who knows... people may one day even *buy* these things i make hehe

So those of you who run challenges? I salute you!

This scary beastie is a digi from Dustin Pike (again! lol) and coloured with Promarkers. My backing paper is again from my Crafter's Companion Autumn/Winter cd and the little gems I have had since I started cardmaking!! I never found a use for them as they always looked 'wrong' but they are so right for this card! ... I think ;) I even made the card base myself... never did it before but it turned out just right...phew!

Christmastastic Forever Friends

Been having a ponder about Christmas presents recently. Last week's Forever Friends challenge- Home Decoration- gave me a kick up the bum as it were and I've managed to come up with one present! lol....

...better than none! :p

I'd bought these tea lights last year in the Lidl sale and they looked rather boring so I decided to pick one of my bears and jazz one up!

First I got a Forever friends sticker from my pack and mounted it on a jazzy red scalloped circle. Bonus, it was a *boy* so that's a boy sorted for Chrimbo! .... if I can find a boy who would be happy with a candle that is ;)

I shoved some glitter and glitz round the cup (you can't have too much at Christmas!)

Put it in a cello bag...et voila!

Present!

Now I need to find a boy who is 'into' candles... hmm or a mummy as what has a little boy...ahhh Myz your brain is working at last...hehe

This also fits in with the challenge at One Stop Craft Challenge for 'alter it!' So bear would like to join in there too please, as Bears They Likes To Play They Does :)

Nan's Birthday

It's Nan's 91st birthday on Thursday... I don't get to see her nearly as much as I want to :(

Darn this not being able to travel much!...

Anyway, I decided to make her a cross stitch that shows a big hug so she can look at me and get a hug from me whenever she wants :) Second-best thing if you will...

I do hope Royal Mail don't kill it on the way!!!!! I didn't have a box so I had to send in a padded envelope...

Decided to branch out and actually use an INSERT in her card too...hope she knows how very special that is... people don't usually get one! :)

Don't know if you can see from the photo, but that's what Little Myz calls Steam coming from the fence...

Plenty of it about round here as well as sparkly cobwebs... I don't think I've seen a house round here without them on the fence so We Must All Be A Bunch Of Scabby Mares in Colburn ;)

Made 2 not-gorgeous Gorjuss cards... been bored with my 'boring' way of making cards so just got anything that sort of matched the topper and bunged it on the card .. it was supposed to be in an arty way but I think maybe in future I'll Stick To Boring :P

Hello Christmas!

Made all these at some point over the past 10 days... after making all those toppers the other week it's really great to be able to just stick without having to faff! I don't like to faff as I don't get enough crafty time as it is what with one thig and another so i sacrifice a few days for Faff so I can enjoy the rest of the mth lol

This one was my favourite...not sure why :)

I made the backing papers by scanning the toppers into my pc .. some worked better than others :)

They'll probably get some little Merry Christmas stickers on when I can buy some... maybe not I'll see how the mood takes me :)

Yes I *know* it was yesterday lol....

You don't want to know what happened yesterday- Enough to say was The Icing on a particularly crappy cake for this week .. Next Week Will Be Better..... Or else someone will feel my wrath ;)

...so... I'd sort of sorted my card but didn't stick it all til this morning

..and here she is :)

I'm pleased with her So That's OK Then....

Not entirely pleased as the sheets of images cost more than My Usual, yet the die cut wasn't really 'nice' and die cut and ripped some of them even though I've become Quite Proficient Indeed, Thanks at getting die cuts out without harming them...

Will have to make more with the other images when I can

Hello Kitty

All clear at docs this morning....felt a bit upset as if it was Fixable I could maybe feel a bit better right now but everything treatable was within normal levels :( ...actual blood count ok, coeliac test fine, iron fine, cholesterol fine..... then I thought hey a lot of my family have high cholesterol and I don't.... so at least This Thing, although it's cast a shadow over more than half my life, isn't life threatening (*), just a total *pain* when I can't go anywhere!.....

...and...also....it's only....

ONE SLEEP TO CARMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To take my mind off the excitement of tomorrow and stop myself doing stupid sapping clearing up I took the toppers I had previously made from the kit I got from Create and Craft last year,

added it to the stickers I bought stuck to card, some die cut bits of whatever stash I could get my hands on that 'went' with the stuff and my luvverly new ribbons and decided to take Little Myz' advice and Just Do It.... not think about whether it was 'right' and Just Do It..... some worked, some didn't ;)

Crafty Ribbons Christmas stuff

Was waiting a bit before I posted these on here but they seem not to have arrived at their destination as of today and if I don't post em I'll forget lol... you know I'll forget!

Made these with some Crafty Ribbons Christmassy ribbons. Nowt special but it's the best a Myz can do... so that makes them perfick :p

Made this wreath and hadn't a clue what to do with it lol so card it was:

This hanging thing caused a lot of problems as it's see through but I guess it should always be against something so you shouldn't see straight through it? ;)

The main part is *very* wide ribbon!

I was half way through this when I thought 'Just a mo this isn't working' lol but I seem to have turned it around... ish ;)

I seem to be stuck on hanging things as my 3rd and final effort was a hanging cross stitch... thing ;)

I nearly took that back out of the parcel as I love him sooo much he's so cute lol

So as I said not earth shattering but the Best I Can Do So They Are Triffic :P

What's on your workdesk this Wednesday?

As for me, the same as has been on there for a week now- I emptied out my box of Christmas stash and sorted it into piles...made 2 cards then....

...left it lol

We Like Eating Dinner Off Our Laps In The Living Room...... honest, guv ;)

Anyway, this week has been full of trying-to-feel-better for when Mr Myz gets a job and can't walk Little Myz to school... and various subversive projects which have been taken from the table as they are *shhhh* secret.....

Mr Myz' 40th Birthday cards

Ok hubby has opened all his cards and set off for Glasgow for his night out

...had to force him, or else he'd be stuck with a night in with me... or as it would have been a night in on his own while I slept probably!.....

Oh, they are The Devil's Work..... aren't Papermania ones meant to be good? lol.....

As usual I spent aaaaages trying to work out this scrap page.... and had everything laid out and pondered about for days....

..I've even messed up entirely as I decided to .... Take Part In A Challenge!!!! ... but that was for scalloped CIRCLES not OVALS... Myz you are an idiot...no challenge for juuuuu :P

..and then things go even more wrongerer.....

I don't have many things that 'match' in my stash but as I said to my Bezzie only this morning that's something A Good Thing... you think more.... If I had a whole loads of bits that Fit Together I'd no doubt end up with the same thing everyone else is making... innit? :)

Aaaaaanyway... I had this:

Nothing special, but I decided less bling and changed the ribbons to less blingtastic ones.... and then

*music of doom* bom, bom bOOOOOOOOOm.......

I tried to put the rub ons on....

Hmmm... ok that didn't work

A panic and a fret later I thought ahhhhhhhh look I tried to use them over glitter... silly Myz! Ok, why don't you just rub them all onto card and cut them out?

As you can see that didn't work either....

So I had to break out The Big Guns..... and made some on the PC and cut them out.. with hindsight I think darker to match all the rest of the toppers would have been A Good Thing but the PC was upstairs and my creation was downstairs so I sort of guessed....

The rub ons would have matched :(

Anyway this is the finished article...

...it'll do I guess... *sigh*

One year old and 5 years old to go... and then I'll find out I can't work the Bind It All... won't that be fun, children? ;)

I hope you are all having a nice crafty week. We've made hubby 40th birthday cards for The Big Event at the end of the week... pity about the no cash to send him out partying with his mates but at least we could make him some cards...

Mr Myz was made redundant last Tuesday so things are a bit up in the air at the moment.. well *more* up in the air....lol so if you are waiting for a cross stitch to be made/designed/spoken to you about give me another couple of weeks then hopefully will be able to sort my head out

Positives in Mr Myz Being made Redundant

-If he can't find a job we're entitled to free school meals. £20 a week for both, which no way could we afford when he was working! Little Myz had dinners one day a week with her friend....

-If he can't find a job he's available for school walks for a while. A Good Thing as I'm not even up to cruddy Normal Myz health yet lol....

I can't remember the other one but it was A Bloody Good Point. ;)

He may be considering moving to London to work in the week but I think that's more a last resort...hopefully... lol....

Anyway, after this yuck week I Need A Hero....

So here are 2 coasters I made ;)

They take far longer to make than my usual coasters but I think they are so much neater innit :)

My 3rd scrap page

Wasn't entirely sure whether to post this....

..been working on it a while but it only seemed to go backwards...

...never mind, we all have to start somewhere so I'm posting it

Whether or not I'll delete the post is undecided right now lol.....

On The Real Thing eyes seem to be first drawn to the cake as it's sparkly and more proud of the surface than anything else, then attention gets drawn to the middle photo as the brown is intentionally darker than the rest of the page

..which is what I wanted.....

....but still not entirely sure it 'worked' ....

Hubby despairs and says, "Well you didn't expect to be great straight off did you?"

..well actually yes I did.... lol... I've spent so long at The Planning Stage you'd think I'd be making masterpieces right now!!!!! :)

goodness me though what a lot of ribbon! lol

It originally had journalling on but we decided It Was Too Much so it didn't make the final cut.... general consensus was that there are words on the backing paper so it was agreed it could be classed as A Scrap Page...just ;)

Decided today was the day to put the finishing touches on my garish Little Myz digi scrap page so I thought I'd share it with you. Aren't I nice? lol

It's garish, there's *far* too much going on but I love it.... I think it suits her personality or something hehe

Wasn't quite sure how to share it as I made it in My Craft Studio so I printed it out then scanned it so it looks better than it does here... marginally ;)

Little Myz loves it anyway so That's What Counts ;)

Following a rather crud weekend I'd like to share with you my...

It's nothing earth shattering but it's my first 'proper' one and a start to my Little Myz year by year scrapbook...

Lookie:

I'm actually rather impressed by it so if you hate it please use the words 'it's ok' or else you'll deflate me like a balloon that's decided to cuddle a very sharp pin....lol

Not put much journalling on there as I'm scared hehe.... but for a first attempt I think it's the best I could have done... Little Myz adores it so I suppose that's what counts :)

Also over the weekend I got my Cross Stitch Crazy prize for being First Past the Post.... a really good book....

So yeay for that!

What's Rocking My World Friday?

1) My daughter

..... since all i can do on the Wii Fit is weigh myself at the moment, she decided to go on for me.... she does mean yoga positions! :)

2) Ainsley Harriott

I wasn't entirely sure about trying Ainsley's spicy couscous as you can see....

...but it's actually rather tasty and in the spirit of 'messing things about to try to make body lose weight' it's a welcome diversion from my usual eggs or tuna with salad :)

3) My Idiocy

I think what's kept me going mostly this week in between yells and cries is the fact that I am
a complete idiot.... the other day wasn't going well at all until this WKD hat came in the post that I had won last month...

..I had to put it on and try to look 'hard' ...... it's the Gaily law :)

The woman next door came round to give me this cucumber....

...now, having only usually seen supermarket cucumbers I haven't a clue whether this weird shaped one is normal, but it gave me a right laugh...

I had been in bed when it 'arrived' to the house so I sent a text telling her that it had made me cry (as in, laughing) .. she sent one back saying 'You're supposed to *eat* it!'

...I haven't a clue what she was suggesting.....

My First Proper Scrapbook... (sorry very long!)

Ok... this is big....

Well, for me it is!..... I've only ever made one scrapbook before and that was a digital one...

..but I thought having had a Bind it All since December which has seen no use (all well and good choosing Xmas and B'day presents that are great for a crafter) but health not been so good so just been doing 'quicker' things, not learning how to use new things

However, The Time Has Come.....

...the time has come to put away childish things, things that take but 30 mins to make....

Oh yes....

..I am going to make A Proper Scrapbook....

By the end of the Summer It Is Going To Be Finished

..and it will look at least passable lol.....

So... so what if I can't get out of the house much. On the days I can have a little walk I shall have a little walk.... on the days I am too dizzy to sit up long I shall rest.... but on the days in between...

So... what should I make a scrapbook of? I decided my daughter Little Myz to start with... just a little scrapbook of photos taken a year apart to start me off.. after all It Will Be Just Like Making Some Cards eh?

I have intentionally not looked at anyones scrapbooks for a while as I want it to be all me... when I am scared I tend to look at loads of things and they seem to absorb into my head and I think I have a really good idea and it turns out it's someone else's lol...

It's not going to be great.... I don't have inks so I won't even be inking anything....

...but it will be a scrapbook... and my bind it all will no longer cry in a corner.....

So I started with these

Photos of Little Myz taken every year in June. A few minutes with my oval nesties and we have liftoff!

I have a quantity of very long offcuts of mount board that I got from hubby's friend that I decided to make the scrapbook with... it will be a small scrapbook as I don't want to scare myself! :P

A loooong time with a scalpel later and hurty arms (but all my fingers!!!) I have these:

So here we have it.. the beginnings of my scrapbook.....

Please let anyone you know in on this miraculous event... I'm going to need all the support I can get I think lol... I haven't even seen anyone make a scrapbook before....but there isn't much room on there for embellishments so I can't go far wrong

Positive Positive positive....

Yes... I'm absolutely positive that I am feeling positive....

I am calm.....

.....no, it's not working, help! lol.....

The various things that are going wrong in my life have kept on going wrong and today I got a letter from barclays saying I'm overdrawn and they will charge me....

...eh? That's where my holiday money is for Butlins in less than 2 weeks... surely my bank account can't have been cleared out again?...

Yes, it *bleeping* has.....

With my old card that was cancelled last month.... apparently they tried to take all this out at the same time as the last lot...so why the *bleep* didn't these get stopped too?

It's ludicrous!..... a year ago, it was so embarrassing, Tesco deliveries got stopped as they flagged on my card as suspicious.....regular payments got stopped...etc...the fraud department were always on the phone to me clearing my card... I got used to it...I thought well, at least my money is secure....

...but these 2 times I've had to tell them myself! ... have they decided 2010 is the year of the slack?....

I really, really, have to stop being upset, let it wash over me and Get On With It.....

I don't have the energy to waste on crying.... we don't want any more tumbles or being unable to make salad do we? That Wouldn't Do At All....

I really wish some of you were up here I'd love to see you.... all I'd need is a hug and a quick cry and I'd be All Better... well not really, but you know what i mean.... I hate not having people close by that could make me feel great just with a hug...

What's Rocking My World Friday?

I can resist no longer....

I need to get down in a post every week what's rocking my world every Friday... a la beautiful Carmen.... it's all very well being A Positive Person .... but sometimes when sickness overwhelms and crappy stuff intervenes it's surprisingly easy to forget the little (and big!) things that are rocking your world and make you happy you are here.... so.... positive post hopefully every Friday from now... and if anything I made is posted that day then I *have* to be positive about it..

Hmmm think I'll get my coat.... lol....

No, no, I must keep on... and do it...

...for Carmen....I did done do a promise!

LOL any cruddy stuff can be told people in emails and texts... I refuse to post any down stuff here.. any more.... at least on Fridays ;)

Ok here we go.....

1) My Little Princess

She's only just turned 5 but she has a way sometimes of turning negatives into really good positives.... she's also very crafty and spent 2 days unwell at home with me this week yet still managed to give me advice...and very good advice.... on how to make my cards! lol....

Due to problems beyond my control, barring a miracle I won't be producing any more little princes or princesses, so she is My Last One.... she is going to Big School in September... year one! My Little Princess.... *sniff* (happy sniff btw in case anyone screams NEGATIVE NELLY!! at me :P )

2) The view from my bedroom window

Ok so it doesn't always look as gorgeous as this.... but I live on the edge of the council estate so I really think this must be the best view in town! :) ... I have a huge field to look at while I'm stuck in bed (quite a bit recently!) ... people walk their dogs there, children play there, so on a nice day I can have my window open and hear them

Bootiful!

*negative comment about 'yes I can hear them if the local kids aren't screaming or drunk adults are also screaming' removed ;) *

3) I can craft!

Ok so it's not earth shatteringly good crafting.... and I've had to find out The Best Crafting For Me at the moment (i.e. lack of scissors and sharp things and not much concentrating involved lol) but this week I have been crafting!

4) It's the holidays!!!!

SALADS are rocking my world today..... I have so so missed them the past week when I've been too unwell to make them.....

I love them! with tuna and cottage cheese in!

They have helped me lose my daughter :)

...and I lovelovelove them... but it's a bit hazardous when you can hardly stand up let alone bringing a knife into the equation

Please..... try not to hold your breath for too long.....but it's true....

I have craft stuff on my table!!!!!!!!!!!! lol

..and a Little Myz too as Mummy has shared some germs with her and she's off school. Stroke of luck really as I've not been well enough to make presents for the teachers so I've got her making them some cards ;)

All week i have been pottering little by little, getting things ready for the card-make-a-thon that Would Definitely Happen By The Weekend..... (...Even If I Had To Do It laying Down lol)

Nothing special... Just a Let's Make cards stash (from 3 mags ago!!!! omg they are piling up lol) but trying to ease myself in gently.

It started Not So Well Actually..... there were tears as wobbly hands stuck things in the wrong place and many things ended up consigned to B for Bin....but I ended up with a few.....

These first ones (or ones like them) are what caused all them there tears... I hadn't had my PC on (hurts my eyes really fast at the moment) so I worked out that I could make them by just getting a normal card and scoring one side in half...

Sort of works but the first lot the top wouldn't go down at all and kept flying in the air! If i don't push the oval-duck one down it flies off even now! lol...... so maybe I'll take a look later and see how you are supposed to do them ;)

I like these ones best.... they is having ribbons on and I think they looks purdy!

Pitiful Progress....

It's been weeks.....

..and look at the cruddy progress i have made on my May Calendar Bear.....

Pitiful... pitiful! ... but most days at the moment I would probably get too much blood on it from stabbing myself with the needle or something...

So I have to leave it sitting there.. staring at me... willing me to finish the project

...maybe I should put it in a drawer so it doesn't upset me hehe

However... any progress is progress right? :)

..and at least I've posted on my blog so yeay for that :)

Bears and Dolly Mamas

Not having a good day at all today....

...decided half way through the morning that Tomorrow Would Be Better....

So in preparation I sorted out the Calendar Bear threads and got the project onto my frame ready for when I could cross stitch without dizzy wobbling or stabbing myself with the needle! lol

Also was excited to receive my first Dolly Mamas from the US in the post... they are so much cheaper over there and I got 2 for 8 pound something delivered each.....

I really love Dolly Mamas and chicklets but not many other people I have found have any so we can't swap patterns etc... so I'll have to plod through getting them one by one when I get some on offer

Wish I lived in the states... I could buy so many more for my money lol....

So far I have had:

High Maintenance - not done yet
Wild Oats - not arrived from US yet
Go Braless- the one I stitched for my mum
Stitch Bitch- this one... the one I'm going to stitch for meeeeeeeeeeee

..there are so so many I want though

Little Myz' Birthday Card

I really shouldn't have left Little Myz' card until today to make... her birthday is tomorrow and today my hands are a bit shaky but I refuse to give her one of my 'stock' cards lol

As a result, my promarkers (ooh look they don't leave lines) left lines as I took so long to finish colouring it lol... and I didn't even bother with shading... and I have lost my Stickles!!!! :(

... but she ended up looking a bit like Little Myz and I'm sure she'll like it....

I got the image from Digital Doodling .. Wendy has some really really great freebies on her blog and always includes some sentiments in there to help you along... invaluable!

Mum's Present

Finally finished Mum's present....

..only by taking loads of shortcuts tho :(

I missed out all the border and didn't do any french knots lol...

..but she liked it and I just got a text saying that she's just got the joint present. Both my sisters and I bought her a Gyrocopter session lol.....

Here's to a few weeks of rest craft wise and not worrying about having stitching or omg-I-Got-A-Card-To-make deadlines...

I did want to stitch Little Myz summat for her birthday next week but I'm sure she'll be happy if I give her something later on in the year lol

..I've found some Thomas the Tank Engine things too that I started when son-of-mine was wee!
